U.S. House Passes Energy Bills

On the tails of the Senate passing it's version of an energy bill the first day of summer the House has responded by passing several bills of their own. This article contains a good summary of the key components. Note a joint Senate-House committee will now need to work out the details between the two chambers, which are fairly significant. Then the combined legislation will have to be voted on and signed by the president to be made in to law. That said there is still a long and vicious battle upcoming for lobbying groups and legislators if meaningful provisions are to be retained.
