James Lang
Executive Director
James Lang's strong business background and extensive hands-on experience at building small and medium-sized companies led to his interest in educating citizens about the detrimental impact of our nation's energy policies since the 1970s. As Executive Director of Energy Literacy Advocates, a non-profit, non-partisan organization, Mr. Lang meets regularly with individuals and organizations of all political affiliations to discuss the importance of restoring U.S. energy independence. He offers deep knowledge about U.S. dependence on foreign oil and the detrimental effects of volatile oil prices on the nation's economy and security.
Prior to serving as the Energy Literacy Advocates executive director, Mr. Lang was a business analyst and advisor in the biotechnology industry for three years, where he worked with a variety of firms on strategic marketing, business development, financial strategies and operations management. His efforts led to creation of several start-up ventures.
He also has served as chief business officer for Precision Golf Systems and as technical services manager for OnIT Consulting, which grew threefold during his tenure.
Mr. Lang is past chairman and current board member for the Northern Colorado Renewable Energy Society as well as chairman of the Town of Mead Open Space Committee.
